Thierry Escaich appears at the BBC Proms with a solo organ recital on 23 August 2015 at the Royal Albert Hall, part of a wider focus on J.S. Bach at the Proms. Escaich performs a mixed programme of Bach, Brahms, Mendelssohn and two of his own works, both of which are a response to the Bach pieces also featured in the programme. Escaich will also end both halves of the concert with improvisations; the first on a romantic theme and the second on Bach themes.
Thierry Escaich is a regular performer at the Proms; in 2014 he performed Duruflé Requiem with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, in 2013 he performed Saint-Saëns’ Organ Symphony with the Orchestre de Paris and Paavo Järvi and in 2011 he gave a solo recital.
